Polyvinyl Acetal Foam

A three-dimensional, interconnected open-cell sponge engineered to absorb, retain, and resist — built to outperform urethane, viscose, rubber, and every other porous material.

01 Composition

Water-soluble polyvinyl, catalyzed into an open cell.

Our polyvinyl acetal foam is obtained from water-soluble polyvinyl catalyzed with an acid and an aldehyde, producing a three-dimensional, interconnected open-cell structure. Every pore connects to the next — not sealed gas bubbles like urethane or rubber.

That geometry is what gives the foam its five defining properties.

02 Properties

Five properties, one material.

A.01
Highly Absorbent

Hydrophilic OH-radicals and capillary pores soak up fluid fast.

A.02
Lint & Particle Free

Leaves no residue on delicate surfaces like glass and optics.

A.03
Chemical Resistant

Withstands acids, alkalis, and many organic solvents.

A.04
Extremely Durable

Long service life even under continuous production use.

A.05
High Retention

Holds fluid many times its weight without dripping.

Absorbency

Because of OH-radicals in its molecular structure and the capillary action of its uniform pore structure, PVA foam is extremely hydrophilic. It rapidly soaks up fluids and dries surfaces far faster than urethane, rubber, or gas-pore-formed products.

Liquid Retention

That same pore structure lets the foam retain fluid many times its own weight while eliminating dripping — making it excellent for evenly coating aqueous solutions across a wide range of manufacturing applications.

03 Chemical Resistance

Resists acids, alkalis & most solvents.

Effect on the foam after exposure at the stated concentrations. "None" means no measurable attack on the material.
